Cox Has Strong Weekend At Martinsville
Takes the prize in BRS, finishes 4th in TCRL
You could tell in the garage area all week that Adam Cox was excited. That excitement turned into a strong finish, and
then a victory at Martinsville speedway in Martinsville VA.
Cox took advantage of a strong starting position during the TCRL Advanced Auto Parts 500 to stay up front all day long.
He just didn't have enough steam at the end to get ahead of the leaders and crossed the stripe 4th. One of those leaders was
newcomer Dale Armstrong, who brought home his first top 5 finish of the season in second place just 3.92 seconds behind winner
Terry Lombardi.
It was evident that Cox wasn't going to settle for 4th. He got behind the wheel of his #13 Rev Limit Dev. Inc Monte Carlo
and set that track on fire the next day during the BRS Advanced Auto Parts 500. Cox finally came home with his first regulation
win beating teammate Dale Armstrong by 2 seconds. "...I love it for Rev Limit. We really needed this." Adam is also the only
driver in BRS this season to win from the pole.
Andy Miller failed to crack his first top 10 finish coming home in 13th and 16th respectively. Surprising was Chris Kliemann's
dominating streak of 5 top 5 finishes come to an end in both series as he finished 15th and 24th. The BRS 24th finish means
he drops to second in points standings to Mike Chavez. "We had some major mechanical problems. A quarter of the way into the
race we lost 3rd gear. Then with 15 laps to go we lost a cylinder. Just frustrating, but we can't wait to get to Texas and
get back into this thing."
